The musical will make its world premiere this summer in Seoul.

Composer Frank Wildhorn premieres the theme from his new musical, The Man Who Laughs, in the video above.

Based on Victor Hugo's novel, the new musical will make its world premiere beginning July 10 at the Art Hall Opera Theater in Seoul, Korea. It features a book by Robert Johanson, who will also direct, and lyrics by Jack Murphy.

The romantic melodrama is credited with inspiring the Batman's Joker, based on the character Gwynplaine.

Wildhorn composed the Broadway musicals Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, Dracula, Bonnie and Clyde, and Wonderland.
