Take a look above at rehearsal footage of The Public Administration and Constitution Affairs Committee Take Oral Evidence on Whitehall’s Relationship with Kids Company. The long-titled piece presents a musicalized presentation of the transcript from the October 2015 evidence session that led to the collapse of Kids Company, an at-the-time prominent charity.
Performances began June 24 at London's Donmar Warehouse.
West End alum Hadley Fraser and Donmar Warehouse Artistic Director Josie Rourke have edited the real transcripts of the hearing for the musical, which features a score by Tom Deering. Adam Penford directs.
The cast features Sandra Marvin as Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh, Omar Ebrahim as former chairman Alan Yentob, Alexander Hanson as Bernard Jenkin, Rosemary Ashe as Kate Hoey, Robert Hands as David Jones, Liz Robertson as Cheryl Gillan, and Anthony O’Donnell as Paul Flynn, as well as David Albury and Joanna Kirkland.
The production will officially open July 3 and play a limited engagement through August 12.
