NY Musical Theatre Fest Get Ready to Celebrate: Butler, Foster, Olivo, Mann in NYMF Cast of Party Come Here And the award for “most star-packed cast of a NYMF show” goes to Party Come Here, a new musical comedy in the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The cast includes Kerry Butler (Hairspray), Fyush Finkel (Picket Fences), Hunter Foster (The Producers), Kaitlin Hopkins (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), Terrence Mann (Lennon), and Karen Olivo (Brooklyn). It also features Randy Aaron, Cathryn Basile, Justin Keyes and Katie Klaus.

The music and lyrics are by David Kirshenbaum (Summer of ‘42) and the book is by Daniel Goldfarb (Fame Becomes Me, Modern Orthodox). Will Frears (Omnium Gatherum) directs, with musical direction by Vadim Feichtner (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and choreography by Tracy Bersley.

Performances will take place September 25-30 at the TBG Theatre, located at 312 W. 36th Street.

"Part farce, part fable, Party Comes Here offers a hilarious collision of cultures as tantalizing as the sexiest city in the world," according to the producers. "Mistaken identity, spirituality, hope, family, sex—all set to irresistible Latin rhythms…This is an outrageous, oddball, optimistic, ohmygod, one-of-a-kind show."

A reading of the musical took place in September 2005 at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's 17th Annual Festival of New Musicals. The reading was directed by Lonny Prince and also featured Hunter Foster, Terrence Mann and Fyvush Finkel.

Fyvush Finkel began his acting career over 50 years ago in the Yiddish theatre in New York. He starred in the Off-Broadway hit Little Shop of Horrors for five years, and in two musical revues, Finkel's Follies and From Second Avenue to Broadway. Television audiences know him from "Picket Fences" and "Boston Public."

Kerry Butler was most recently on Broadway as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. She portrayed Penny Pingleton in the original Broadway cast of Hairspray, and her other Broadway credits include Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Eponine in Les Misérables and Ms. Jones in Blood Brothers. Off-Broadway she was seen in Bat Boy The Musical, The "I" Word, Prodigal and The Folsom Head. She was also part of the cast of the new musical The Opposite of Sex, which premiered in San Francisco.
