News Geva Theatre Season Will Feature Good People, Vanya and Sonia and World Premiere of Women in Jeopardy! Geva Theatre Center has announced the lineup for its 2014-15 season.

The Rochester-based non-profit will present the thriller Wait Until Dark, the Tony-nominated play Good People and the world premiere of the comedy Women In Jeopardy!

The season also includes the musical Little Shop of Horrors, Katori Hall's award-winning play The Mountaintop and the 2013 Tony winner for Best Play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, by Christopher Durang.

The Fielding Mextstage season will present the Festival of New Theatre, with Maripat Donovan's ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3, and the Fielding Studio Series will include the world premiere of Katherine’s Colored Lieutenant, Lee Blessing's A Body Of Water and the world premiere of True Home, by Cass Morgan.

A special production of the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will also be presented.

"Professional theater-making at Geva involves hundreds of guest artists and resident staff, who have devised a wide variety of artistic work to be on the Geva stage in 2014-15," artistic director Mark Cuddy said in a statement. "Playwrights, directors, actors, and designers are eagerly anticipating joining with the over 130,000 expected attendees to create memorable theatrical performances specifically for our community." "The 2014-2015 Season will continue to build on Geva's tradition of top quality theatre and educational programming made right here in Rochester, for Rochester," executive director Tom Parrish added. "We are grateful to the thousands of season subscribers that have already committed to making this memorable season with our artists, and to our many donors, whose philanthropic support makes all of Geva's artistic, education, literary and community building work possible."

Wait Until Dark

The vulnerable Susan must muster her resources to outmaneuver her tormentors, turn her disability to advantage, and survive."

Good People
