Ahh, what would Times Square be without its billboards and lit signs? For a moment or two on Oct. 28, New York will have a chance to find out. That's when leaders the Municipal Arts Society and the Times Square Business Improvement District will flip a switch and darken 50 Times Square signs in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of a zoning ordnance that saved the mid-town Manhattan signage. The 5:15 PM ceremony, on Broadway at 45th St., will also feature an awards presentation for the "Spectacular Times Square" supersign competition. Winners will be presented with iridescent light bulbs by Deborah Gibson (Les Miz, Beauty And The Beast) and David Garrison (Titanic).
