Gina Gershon, a founding member of Naked Angels theatre company in New York City, is to be the next Sally Bowles in the smash Roundabout Theatre Company staging of Cabaret, beginning Jan. 19, 2001.

The Sam Mendes-Rob Marshall production of the musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff, set in pre-World War II Berlin, continues at Studio 54.

Gershon, who plays decadent nightclub singer Sally, blithely unaware of the corruption around her, has performed in Jon Robin Baitz's The Substance of Fire at the Long Wharf Theatre, William Mastrosimone's Nanawatai at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, and recently in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues. Film appearances include "The Insider," "Showgirls," "Bound" and "Face/Off," and TV's short-lived "Snoops."

Gershon takes the place of current Sally, Katie Finneran.

The Roundabout revival of Cabaret opened on Broadway March 19, 1998 and won four 1998 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Gershon joins Matt McGrath as the Emcee, Dick Latessa as Herr Schultz, Carole Shelley as Fraulein Schneider, Michael Hayden as Clifford Bradshaw, Candy Buckley as Fraulein Kost and Martin Moran as Ernst Ludwig. Studio 54 is at 254 W. 54th Street. For ticket information, call (212) 239-6200.
