News Glaser’s Acclaimed Family Secrets Returns to NYC in February In 1993 actress Sherry Glaser opened Off-Broadway in her one-woman show Family Secrets, garnering a Theater World Award, a Drama Desk nomination and an Outer Critic nomination for her performance.

Glaser is returning to New York next month for an encore engagement of Family Secrets at 37 Arts. Directed by Bob Balaban, the solo show will begin previews Feb. 22 and play through April 16. The official opening night is scheduled for March 8.

Family Secrets, according to press notes, “is an intimate portrait of five members of a Jewish family transplanted from the Bronx to Southern California.”

The creative team for the production comprises Rob Odorisio (scenic designer), John-Paul Szczepanski (lighting designer, based on the original design by Brian MacDevitt) and Ryan Powers (sound design).

Sherry Glaser’s solo shows include Coping and Family Secrets. She collaborated with Thais Mazur on the theatre/dance project Remember This. Among her new works are In Touch with Reality, Oh My Goddess! and The Adventures of Super Activist Mother.
