News Glass' Milliner Opens Off-Broadway Nov. 1 The world premiere of Suzanne Glass' The Milliner officially opens at Off-Broadway's East 13th Street Theatre Nov. 1. The limited engagement began previews Oct. 24.

Directed by Mark Clements, the new play from the best-selling author of "The Interpreter" will run through Dec. 17. Described as a tale of "passion, fashion and music," The Milliner features the talents of Michel Gill, Julia Haubner, Caralyn Kozlowski, Maria Cellario, Donna Davis, Steven Hauck and Glenn Kalison. The design team comprises Todd Ivins (scenery), Gregory Gale (costumes) and Jeff Nellis (lighting) and Brian Kim (projections).

The Milliner, according to press notes, concerns a talented hat designer named Wolfgang. "As a Jew on trial in Germany after the end of the Second World War, Wolfgang begins to tell his tale. . . . In love with Germany, Wolfgang is forced to leave for England with his wife in 1938 and longs to go 'home,' to the culture and cabaret of Berlin. In 1946, despite the Nazi’s murder of his mother, he does just that. The consequences of the hatmaker’s return to his Motherland are cataclysmic."

The East 13th Street Theatre is located in Manhattan at 136 East 13th Street. The performance schedule is Tuesday-Friday evenings at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2 and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. For tickets call (212) 352-3101.
