News   Glazer's In the Daylight Plays the McGinn Cazale Theatre Beginning Sept. 8

Choice Theatricals in association with the Vital Theatre Company present the world premiere of Tony Glazer's In the Daylight starting Sept. 8 at the McGinn Cazale Theatre.

Directed by John Gould Rubin, performances will play the Off-Broadway venue through Oct. 11. Opening night is scheduled for Sept 20.

Inhabiting the play are Sharon Maguire ("Law & Order: SVU," Tartuffe), Ashley Austin Morris ("The Electric Company," Paper Dolls), Jay Patterson ("Murder, She Wrote," All the King's Men), Concetta Tomei (Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, "Weeds") and Joe Urla ("Seinfeld," "The Wire").

In the Daylight, according to press notes, is a "darkly comic tale about a well-known writer and his homecoming to a family he has been avoiding for many years. As the play unfolds we discover the true reasons for his extended absence and the dark secrets his family has been keeping."

The creative team includes Thom Weaver (lighting design), Chris Barreca (scenic design) and Elizabeth Rhodes (sound design).

Glazer is also the author of Stain, which was recently published by Samuel French after a well-received production in New York. For tickets, priced $35 ($30 during previews), phone (212) 579-0528 or visit VitalTheatre. The McGinn Cazale Theatre is located at 2162 Broadway, between 76th and 77th Streets.
