News Glee Club Begins Singing Off-Broadway March 3 The Blue Coyote Theater Group staging of Matthew Freeman's Glee Club, a high-stakes comedy about a men's choral troupe, begins performances Off-Broadway March 3 at the Access Theater.

Kyle Ancowitz directs the play that premiered last summer as part of the Antidepressant Festival at The Brick. Glee Club officially opens March 6 and will run through April 3.

The cast features Bruce Barton, Robert Buckwalter, Steven Burns, David DelGrosso, Carter Jackson, Stephen Speights, Tom Staggs and Matthew Trumbull.

Glee Club, according to press notes, follows "eight misfit members of Romeo, Vermont’s cut-throat Glee Club. They are on the verge of meltdown after their soloist makes the disastrous decision to save his own life. Will they be ready in time for the big recital? And isn’t music the most important thing? Glee Club is a comedy about singing. Singing makes people happy."

The production features the song "The World Will Make You Smile," penned by Stephen Speights. Designing Glee Club are Robert Monaco (set design), Wheeler Kincaid (lighting design) and Jonna McElrath (costume design).
