News "Glee," Lady Gaga, Usher Among American Music Awards Nominees; Lance Bass to Co-Host Red Carpet Pre-Show The nominees for The 38th Annual American Music Awards were announced Oct. 12. The ceremony, which will take place Nov. 21 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, will feature a red carpet pre-show co-hosted by pop music and Broadway vet Lance Bass.

Fox's hit musical series "Glee" snagged a nod for Best Soundtrack Album for "Glee: The Music, Volume 3: Showstoppers," sharing the nomination with AC/DC for the "Iron Man 2" soundtrack as well as "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." Eminem and Lady Antebellum led the nominations race with five each, followed by Justin Bieber with four and B.o.B., Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Usher with three apiece. Usher, a veteran of Broadway's Chicago, is slated to perform on the telecast.

Bieber, Eminem, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry will vie for the Artist of the Year award, with Gaga also in the running for Favorite Female Artist (Pop or Rock Music) against Ke$ha and Perry. Usher is up for Favorite Male Artist (Pop or Rock Music) with Bieber and Eminem taking the other slots in that category.

The American Music Awards will be broadcast Nov. 21 at 8 PM on ABC. The red carpet pre-show will be available on abc.com and ustream.tv.
