Known for her own signature brand of comedy, Burnett makes an ideal comic match for Jane Lynch's dry, eviscerating take on cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester. Ausiello reports that the "Glee" episode featuring Burnett as Sue's "Nazi-hunting mother" will air in October or November. The second season of "Glee" is also reported to feature stage veterans Cheyenne Jackson, Jonathan Groff and Kristin Chenoweth.

Burnett, a Kennedy Center Honoree, has appeared on Broadway in Once Upon a Mattress, Fade Out-Fade In, Moon Over Buffalo and Putting It Together. She co-authored the Broadway play Hollywood Arms with her daughter Carrie Hamilton, and was awarded a Special Tony Award in 1969. She is known for her television work on "The Carol Burnett Show" and has appeared in the films "Annie," "The Four Seasons" and "A Wedding."

The second season of "Glee" will premiere Sept. 21 at 8 PM ET on FOX.
