Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan created the series about a group of high school misfits who wind up performing in the show choir. In addition to its anticipated second season, FOX has also revealed that "Glee" will return for a third season.

The second season promises guest stars including Carol Burnett, John Stamos, Javier Bardem, Charice, Kristin Chenoweth, Cheyenne Jackson and Idina Menzel.

The cast features Tony Award nominee Matthew Morrison (South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza) as Spanish teacher Will Schuester with Spring Awakening's Lea Michele as glee club Broadway baby Rachel Berry, Jenna Ushkowitz as Tina, Chris Colfer as Kurt, Kevin McHale as Artie, Cory Monteith as Finn Hudson and Amber Riley as Mercedes Jones.

The ensemble cast also includes Jane Lynch as cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, Jessalyn Gilsig as Terri Schuester, Jayma Mays as teacher Emma Pillsbury, Dianna Agron as cheerleader Quinn and Mark Salling as football player Puck.

In its first season "Glee" welcomed a roster of Broadway guest stars including Chenoweth and Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Neil Patrick Harris, as well as Molly Shannon, Mike O’Malley and Olivia Newton-John.

After its successful first season, "Glee" swiftly became a phenomenon. Music albums from the series continue to roll out, while DVDs, sheet music and a live concert tour have also become part of the franchise. Several of the "Glee" cast have also begun recording solo albums.
