Previews will begin Oct. 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre with an official opening Nov. 11.

The play won the Pulitzer Prize for its look at the underbelly of American salesmanship. Pacino played salesman Ricky Roma in a film version of the play that has had two separate lives on Broadway (in 1984 and 2005). Pacino earned an Academy Award nomination for playing Roma.

The upcoming production will be directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan (Proof, The Columnist, Pacino's The Merchant of Venice).

Jeffrey Richards, who has a track record with Mamet on Broadway (Race, A Life in the Theatre starring Patrick Stewart, 2008's Speed-the-Plow and the 2005 Glengarry, which won the Best Revival Tony), is a lead producer of this new Glengarry revival. On June 10, Richards and Frankel won the Tony for Best Musical Revival for producing The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess.

Richards will produce with Jerry Frankel, also a lead producer of the Tony-winning Porgy and Bess, and Jam Theatricals. Glengarry Glen Ross follows the cutthroat world of real estate where salesmen (in a Chicago office) are vying for the best leads to make the biggest sales. The drama is known both for its rapid-fire dialogue and profane language.

The play was originally produced on Broadway in 1984 under the direction of Gregory Mosher following London and Chicago runs. The drama was later adapted by Mamet for the 1992 film starring Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alan Arkin, Ed Harris and Kevin Spacey. (Pacino won his Best Actor Oscar in 1993, for Scent of a Woman, in the same year he was nominated for the "Glengarry" film supporting role.)

The revival will have set design by Tony Award winner Eugene Lee (A Streetcar Named Desire, The Homecoming, Wicked) and costume design by Tony Award winner Jess Goldstein (Newsies, The Rivals, The Merchant of Venice).

Additional casting and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
