News Glenn Carter and Robyn North to Star in London Fringe Production of Adam Guettel's Floyd Collins Glenn Carter, seen in the title role of Jesus Christ Superstar in the production seen on Broadway in 2000 that transferred from the West End, will play the title role in a new London fringe production of Tina Landau and Adam Guettel's musical Floyd Collins, opposite Robyn North as Nellie Collins.

It will begin performances at Southwark Playhouse's Vault Feb. 22, 2012, prior to an official opening Feb. 28 for a run through March 31.

The production, to be directed by Derek Bond, will also include Vlach Ashton as Reporter, Kit Benjamin as Carmichael, Dayle Hodge as Reporter and Dance Captain, Donovan Preston as Jewell Estes, Ryan Sampson as "Skeets" Miller and Jane Webster as Miss Jane. Further casting will be announced in the New Year. It is presented by Peter Huntley Productions in association with Southwark Playhouse.

Set in Kentucky in 1925, the musical tells the story of a man who seeks fame and fortune in underground caves, who is let trapped 55 feet below the earth's surface after a cave-in. The media circus above ground makes a very personal tragedy a national sensation.  The musical was first seen seen in 1994 at New York's Playwrights Horizons in 1996. This new production, specially conceived for the cavernous depths of Southwark Playhouse's Vault space, marks its first London revival in over ten years, since it originally premiered here at the Bridewell Theatre.

Carter most recently appeared in Exonerated (Charing Cross Theatre) after playing Tommy DeVito in the original London cast of Jersey Boys (Prince Edward Theatre). Other London theatre appearances include Les Misérables (Palace Theatre), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (London Palladium) and Whistle Down the Wind (Aldwych Theatre and tour).

North was seen as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre for three years, and recently appeared in the 25th birthday concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. Other theatre credits include Sophie de Palma in Master Class (Theatre Royal Bath/Chichester/national tour) and Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie (national tour) in which she also covered the title role of Millie. Her debut album "Make Believe" includes duets with fellow Phantom stars Ramin Karimloo and Leila Benn Harris.
