The sci-fi film "She Who Brings Gifts," which is based on the novel "The Girl with All the Gifts," features a screenplay by the original author, MR Carey. The thriller concerns a "seemingly normal and very intelligent little girl who lives in an underground army bunker with other children her age. They are all experimental cases being examined by scientists to find a cure for a fungal spore that has infected the planet."

Close also will co-star with Noomi Rapace in What Happened To Monday?, another science-fiction film set in a dystopian future where seven identical sisters try to find their way around a law enforcing one-child families in an overpopulated world. Directed by Tommy Wirkola, the film has a script by Max Botkin and Kerry Williamson for Vendôme Pictures. Filming is scheduled to begin in July.

Close won Tonys for her performances in Sunset Boulevard, Death and the Maiden and The Real Thing. She also appeared in Richard Rodgers' late-career musical, Rex. She is known for many film roles, notably "Fatal Attraction."
