Nicholas Russell, the artistic director of Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, New York, is stepping down after a decade in the job. The Associated Press reports that the 2006 summer season, which ended on August 29, is his last with the company.

His departure follows those earlier this year of company general director Paul Kellogg (who is retiring from his other post, at New York City Opera, at the end of the coming season) and music director Stewart Robertson.
