Avenue Q, the musical comedy by Jeff Marx, Robert Lopez, and Jeff Whitty, celebrated its 15th anniversary after opening at the Golden Theatre on Broadway July 31, 2003. The show went on to win the 2004 Tony Award for Best Musical and ran on Broadway for 2,534 performances. After concluding its Broadway run in 2009, Avenue Q transferred to Off-Broadway’s New World Stages where it continues to run.
Set on a street block in New York City, Avenue Q follows a group of humans and puppets learning how to live and love in the Big Apple.
The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
