Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Little Women, starring Dear Evan Hansen’s Kristolyn Lloyd, opened at the Cherry Lane Theatre, in a production from Primary Stages, June 4. Lloyd stars as Jo March—ambitious, headstrong, and yearning for a future she can’t yet articulate. As the nation is torn apart by civil war, Jo and her sisters struggle with what it means to grow up, and how to reconcile their identities with society’s demands.

The play, directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George), is scheduled to run through June 29.
