Waitress, the Tony Award-nominated musical by Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson, celebrated 1,000 performances on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre September 19. To commemorate the occasion, original cast member Drew Gehling, starring as Dr. Pomatter, led the cast and audience in a special post-show sing-along to “Down at the Diner,” a cut song from the show.

Go Inside Waitress’ 1000th Performance Celebration

Directed by Diane Paulus, Waitress opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre April 24, 2016 after playing a pre-Broadway engagement at Cambridge’s American Repertory Theatre. The production went on to be nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.
