Directed by Anthony Barnao and produced by Wetrock Entertainment, God or Merman was nominated for an L.A. Ovation Award and won the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Score. Brochu and Schalchlin star in the work, which concerns two gay men, "a Catholic from Brooklyn (Brochu) and a Baptist from Texas (Schalchlin) who pursue religion, discover theatre, fall in love, fall apart, put their lives back together and sing all about it! Brochu believed he was destined to be the first Brooklyn born pope until at age 13, his father introduced him to his friend Ethel Merman and his life changed forever."
God or Merman will be presented Sept. 19 at 4:30 PM and Sept. 20 at 6 PM. Complimentary tickets are available by calling (212) 302-4848, ext. 17.
