Watch Emma Thompson Sing "The Worst Pies in London" in Sweeney Todd Opera star Bryn Terfel, who performed the title role in the New York Philharmonic production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, had difficulty keeping the casting of Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson as his partner-in-crime Mrs. Lovett a secret.

"I was chomping at the bits to say, 'It's going to be Emma Thompson,'" Terfel said.

Terfel, along with Tony Award winner Christian Borle, Philip Quast and Kyle Brenn, sang the praises of Thompson, who made her New York stage musical debut in the production.

"She could not be more gracious," Borle said of Thompson.
