News Goldberg, Langella & Woodward Lined Up For Blue Light Special, May 12 And you thought Joanne Woodward was the only celebrity name attached to Off-Broadway's Blue Light Theatre Company. Well, think again -- yes, Woodward directed Clifford Odets' Golden Boy for the company last year, and she's about to stage Odets' Waiting For Lefty April 19-May 18 (see Playbill On-Line story, "Oscar-Winner Tomei To Wait For Blue Light's Lefty"). But a number of luminaries will appear at the theatre company's benefit night, May 12, at NY's Irving Plaza.

But a number of luminaries will appear at the theatre company's benefit night, May 12, at NY's Irving Plaza.

Taking part in this "evening of song and celebration" will be Whoopi Goldberg (Forum) and beau Frank Langella (Present Laughter), Alec Baldwin (A Streetcar Named Desire), James Naughton (Chicago) David Buskin, Robin Batteau, Phoebe Snow, Pearl Theatre veteran Joe Grifasi, and company members Dylan Baker, Molly Regan and Greg Naughton. Also performing will be three dancers from Broadway's Chicago: Denise Faye, Mary Ann Lamb and Leigh Zimmerman. Honorary chairs for the theatre company include Woodward and husband Paul Newman, Langella and playwright/actor Austin Pendleton

Tickets range from $5,000 for a corporate table (including a special champagne reception) to $300 for cocktails, dinner and show, to $100 for the show only.
