Off-Off-Broadway's Present Company will open their second full season at their new 198 Stanton Street space with Goner. It's the latest by Brian Parks, author of Americana Absurdum, the two-part play which the company has revived several times with success.

As in past work, the target of Parks' broad satire is American culture. Among Goner's features are a giant talking tumor, a wounded President, an absent-minded chief surgeon and a couple of excitable FBI conspiracy theorists. Parks' longtime interpreter, and Present Company artistic director, John Clancy, will direct.

Featured in the cast David Calvitto, Leslie Farrell, Daniel P. Hope, Paul Urcioli (Over the River and Through the Woods), Jenny Maguire, Douglas Manes, Jason Nuzzo and Christopher Sorenson as the Tumor. Calvitto, Ferrill, Urcioli and Sorenson are all veterans of past Parks plays.

Next up at the Present Company will be Gorky's Wife (Nov. 26-Dec. 19), by Greek playwright Elena Penga. In Gorky, Balkan refugee Veronica and Americans Ben and Leo spend the night in downtown L.A. in the company of the ghosts of Russian writer Maxim Gorky and his wife.

Feb. 10-March 4, 2000, the Present Company will present a new, as-yet unannounced play by John Clancy. Last season, the troupe revived Clancy's Paper Man. The Present Company Theatorium is located at 198 Stanton Street on New York's Lower East Side. For information, call (212) 420-8877.
