News Goodwin, Gordon & Graham Among Directors Of 'First Run' Series at OB's Primary Stages, April 15-23 As Off-Broadway's Primary Stages gears up for its final show of the season -- Daisy Foote's When They Speak Of Rita -- the company also casts an eye towards future seasons with a two-week reading series titled "First Run." Among the playwrights represented with new works are Daniel Goldfarb and Jessica Goldberg, with directors to include David Warren, Cliff Goodwin, Dion Graham, Seth Gordon and Julie Boyd.

As Off-Broadway's Primary Stages gears up for its final show of the season -- Daisy Foote's When They Speak Of Rita -- the company also casts an eye towards future seasons with a two-week reading series titled "First Run." Among the playwrights represented with new works are Daniel Goldfarb and Jessica Goldberg, with directors to include David Warren, Cliff Goodwin, Dion Graham, Seth Gordon and Julie Boyd.

Formed in 1996, the New American Writers Group gives playwrights six weeks to meet and revise their new plays in this workshop series. As director Gordon said in a statement, "It allows us to use our experience to serve emerging playwrights, while also keeping in touch with the voices of the upcoming generation of artists."

The series began April 10 with Goldfarb’s Dulce de Leche and continued April 13-14 with January, directed by Cliff Goodwin. Here's the April 15-23 line-up:

April 15-16: Los Angeles by Julian Sheppard, directed by Seth Gordon, with Heather Burns, Chris Messina, Dion Graham, Julie Boyd, Ross Gibby, David Thornton, Dennis Parlato, Wendy Hoops and Michael Stuhlbarg (Old Wicked Songs).

April 17-18: Trust by Janet Reed Ahearn, directed by Julie Boyd, with Kellie Overbey (The Hologram Theory), Jim Stanek, Nick Toren, Jennifer Rau. April 20-21: Rhythm, I Was Sayin' by Bruce Faulk, directed by Dion Graham.

April 22-23: Trashed by Jessica Goldberg (The Hologram Theory), directed by Seth Gordon, with Jen McGuire, Hamish Linklater, Chris Messina, Heather Goldenhirsh, Reed Birney and Julie Boyd.
