Expanded Arts' Shakespeare in the Park(ing Lot) production of Richard III not enough for you? Require more bloody Shakespearean tragedy in the all-outdoors? Well, you're in luck. Gorilla Repertory Theatre Company is staging a competing Richard III.

Gorilla's version will play several dozen blocks north of Expanded Arts' Lower East Side mounting, occupying Central Park from July 22 to Aug. 15.

Joshua Spafford (The Death of Griffin Hunter) will play the treacherous king. Stephen M. Burdman will direct.

Christopher Sanderson will pilot A Midsummer Night's Dream, the second production of Gorilla's summer season. Midsummer is a Gorilla tradition and the troupe's most conspicuous commodity; the company has staged the comedy in Washington Square Park every summer for the past ten years.

Running in rep with Midsummer will be Twelfth Night, also staged by Sanderson. Midsummer will run Aug. 5-Sept. 25; Twelfth Night will play Aug. 6-Sept. 26.
