Gorilla Rep presents a return engagment of their formerly outdoor Alice, at the Harry Du Jur Playhouse, Mar. 26-Apr. 4. First presented to critical acclaim last summer at NY's Federal Plaza, Alice tells the oft-told story of a young girl's adventures in a fantastical world inhabited by creatures like the Mad Hatter, the white rabbits and, of course, the Cheshire Cat.
Gorilla Rep's Alice is done in the environmental sense, where rather than a traditional theater proscenium setting -- the action happens all around the audience.
Gorilla Rep seems to be keeping rather busy, as well as Alice, they also have Talking Jazz, a combination of jazz and poetry playing every Friday and Saturday night at the Piano Store and their Faust starring Spin Doctors' lead singer Chris Barron making a return engagement next month. Alice, Jazz and Faust are all directed by Christopher Sanderson.
Alice returns from Mar. 26 - Apr. 4, at the Harry Du Jur Playhouse, for reservations call (212) 598-0400.
