Gossip maven Liz Smith gets all the dirt and sees all the shows in New York City, but she's really just a tomboy from Fort Worth, Texas. Paying homage to her youth and to actor Zachary Scott, who helped her land her first New York writing job, Smith returns to TX March 10 to raise funds for the the theatre that bears Scott's name.
Smith will reminisce about her friendship with Austin's Scott, whom she interviewed first as a student at the University of Texas while he was a Broadway rising star. She will also discuss her new biography, "Natural Blonde," which chronicles her rise from star-struck girl to the highest paid columnist in the world.
TX governor Ann Richards joins Smith and the Zach Scott's artistic director Dave Steakley, who hosts the evening.
