Blank artistic director Daniel Henning will stage the musical that officially opens April 17 and will run through May 23. David O serves as musical director.

Graae (A Grand Night for Singing, Forever Plaid) and Margherita (Zorro) will be joined by Doug Carpenter (Camelot at the Pasadena Playhouse), Perry Ojeda (On the Town, Imaginary Friends) and Suzan Solomon (Bubbling Brown Sugar).

See What I Wanna See, according to the Blank, "is about lust, greed, murder, faith, and redemption. It is based on three short stories that unfold like a Japanese screen painting. In 'Kesa and Morito,' set in medieval Japan, two lovers sing of the ecstasy and torment of their affair. 'R Shomon,' set in 1951 New York City, follows the investigation of a crime of passion and the witnesses’ contradicting versions of the event. 'Gloryday,' set in present day New York, presents a priest during a crisis of faith after a terrible tragedy strikes the city."

The Blank production will have set design by Ginnie Ann Held, costume design by Dana Peterson and lighting design by Jeremy Pivnick. Producers are Stacy Reed, Noah Wyle and Jon Van Middlesworth.

See What I Wanna See premiered Off-Broadway at the Public Theater in 2005 under the direction of Tony Award winner Ted Sperling. The musical was initially developed at the Williamstown Theatre Festival under the title R Shomon. Composer, lyricist and librettist Michael John LaChiusa earned Tony nominations for his musicals Marie Christine (Best Book and Score), as well as The Wild Party (Best Book) and Chronicle of a Death Fortold (Best Book). His works also include Hello Again, First Lady Suite, Little Fish and Bernarda Alba. His latest musical Giant premiered at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA, in 2009.
