Composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz will be joined by actors Debbie Gravitte and Scott Coulter in the appropriately titled Stephen Schwartz & Friends at the Westport Country Playhouse on Sept. 8. The three will perform songs from the Schwartz catalogue. Schwartz is the creator of the hits Godspell and Pippin, as well as the upcoming Broadway show Wicked.
The songwriter has been concertizing of late. On July 8, he previewed a new song from Wicked at New York City's Duplex Cabaret Theatre. The show featured performances and songs by John Bucchino and Amanda Green.
