The weekly live talk show, which includes interviews and performances from Broadway stars, is held at 6 PM at the New York cabaret Don't Tell Mama. There is a $10 donation and a two-drink minimum. The donation goes directly to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the nation's leading industry-based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization.
Jenny Powers plays Rizzo in the current Broadway revival of Grease at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The singing actress played Meg in Broadway's Little Women and also appeared in the City Center Encores! productions of Of Thee I Sing and Follies. Her other theatrical credits include roles in The Glorious Ones, Loving Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein, Bounce, Dangerous Beauty, A Little Night Music, A Long Gay Book, Everything's Ducky and Oliver! Powers' screen credits include "Law & Order," "Six Degrees" and "I Think I Love My Wife."
After creating the roles of Joe and Jerry in the Playwrights Horizons production of Grey Gardens, Matt Cavenaugh played those part in the Broadway mounting of the new musical, which ended its run July 29. Cavenaugh made his Broadway debut as Bud in Urban Cowboy. He also appeared in the national tours of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Ragtime, Strike Up the Band and Grease! as well as in regional productions of Carousel, Anything Goes, Dorian, Footloose and john and jen. Cavenaugh can also be seen in the film "Sexual Dependency." He will play the Groom in A Catered Affair, which will open April 17, 2008, at the Walter Kerr Theatre.
Creator and host of Seth's Broadway Chatterbox, Seth Rudetsky has served as a pit pianist and/or conductor for such Broadway shows as 42nd Street, The Full Monty, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia! and The Producers. He also conceived the idea for the recent all-star The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas concert to benefit the Actors' Fund of America as well as the five previous benefit concerts, Hair, Chess, Funny Girl, On the Twentieth Century and Dreamgirls. Rudetsky was a member of the comedy writing team for "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" for two years, and his awards include the Duplex's Stars of Tomorrow, the Backstage Bistro and the Funniest Gay Male in New York. He was also the author and star of the recent one man, GLAAD nominated show Rhapsody in Seth, and his new tome — "The Q Guide to Broadway" — was published by Alyson Books. Rudetsky has been seen on "Law & Order" and "All My Children" and currently pens a weekly column for Playbill.com.
