Triumph of Love's Christopher Sieber and Side Show's Lauren Kennedy lead The Muny's production of Grease, running June 21-27.
A 50's styled rock-n-roll musical, Grease follows the transformation of quiet "good girl" Sandy Dumbrowski (Kennedy) into the ultimate party girl, who lands, along the way, the coolest guy in school, Danny Zuko (Sieber).
Sieber, who currently stars as Kevin Burke, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson's father, on ABC's "Two of a Kind," played in Broadway's Triumph of Love. A Muny veteran, he has appeared in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Guys and Dolls and as Judas in Guys and Dolls. Kennedy understudied and played Daisy Hilton in Side Show after making her Broadway debut in Sunset Boulevard, a show she appeared in in Los Angeles. She also played Betty Schaefer in the first national tour.
Emmy, Obie and Bistro Award-winner Marilyn Sokol reprises the role of Miss Lynch, which she played on Broadway in the recent revival. St. Louis native Ken Page plays Teen Angel and Johnny Casino. A Drama Desk Award winner for Ain't Misbehavin', Page has starred on Broadway in Cats, The Wiz and the all-black revival of Guys and Dolls.
Tickets are $39-$7 and available by calling the box office at (314) 361 1900 ext. 355. The Muny is located on the web at http://www.muny.com. -- By Christine Ehren
