Greg Jackson, returning for his 13th season, plays the title character. Expect "a sublime blend of Grand Guignol, vaudeville and Brechtian theatricality to tell the story of Timon, the play's title character, and his psychological transition from childlike innocence to bitter despair."

Opening night is July 9. Performances July 6-24 play the company's main stage — the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre in Madison, NJ.

The cast includes Bruce Cromer as Apemantus, a cynic who mocks Timon for his gullibility; Brent Harris as Alcibiades, the banished general; John Seidman as Flavius, Timon's most loyal servant; Ames Adamson as Lucullus, a lord who happily enjoys Timon's hospitality but refuses to do anything for him in return; Scott Whitehurst as Lucius, a flattering lord who refuses to help Timon pay off his debts; A. Benard Cummings as Titus, a servant to one of Timon's creditors; and Geoffrey Owens ("The Cosby Show") as a Poet.

The company also includes Jasmine Batchelor, Eric Hoffman, Dan Lawrence, Allison Layman, Quentin McQuiston and Jessica Morris.

Resident director Crowe is in his 16th season with The Shakespeare Theatre. The creative team includes set designers Brian B. Crowe and Brian Ruggaber; costume designer Pamela A. Prior; lighting designer Andrew Hungerford; sound designer Karin Graybash; and composer Peter Fleming. Christine Whalen serves as production stage manager.
