Rehearsals will begin in January 2011, according to a casting notice.

Producers are Frederick Zollo & Robert Cole, Shubert Organization, Shelter Island Enterprises.

An earlier report in the New York Post said that Tony-winning actor Liev Schreiber, who co-starred in Mosher's A View From the Bridge, would likely be part of the cast.

That Championship Season premiered at the Public Theater on May 2, 1972, starring Charles Durning, Richard A. Dysart, Walter McGinn, Michael McGuire and Paul Sorvino, under the direction of A.J. Antoon. The production, with the original cast intact, transferred to Broadway's Booth Theatre on Sept. 11, 1972, and ran through April 1974. Playwright Miller later directed the 1983 film.

According to previous press notes, "That Championship Season takes place at a reunion of a high school basketball coach, now retired, and four members of the team that he guided to the state championship 20 years earlier. As the evening progresses, secrets are revealed, loyalties tested and the foundation of their long-held dreams is found to be fraudulent."

No official announcement about a Broadway revival has been announced.
