Featuring music and lyrics by Vigoda and Milburn (Toy Story: The Musical; Sleeping Beauty Wakes; Striking 12) and a book by DiPietro (Memphis, Nice Work If You Can Get It), the 90-minute musical tests its legs in a lab presentation through Feb. 4 at Seattle's A Contemporary Theatre, prior to a full engagement at the Seattle Repertory Theatre beginning April 18.

The Seattle premiere is produced in a partnership with the Balagan Theatre, ACT and Seattle Rep.

Obie Award winner Lisa Peterson directs Ernest Shackleton Loves Me, which will run through May 4 at Seattle Rep. It is billed as Off-Broadway-bound; however, an official announcement of a New York run has not been made.

Vigoda and Wade McCollum (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Jersey Boys) co-star in the musical. Musical direction is by Ryan O'Connell.

Here's how it's billed: "Kat (Vigoda) is a present-day, sleep-deprived single mom who has just been fired from her day job as a video game composer when the historic, legendary gentleman-explorer, Ernest Shackleton (McCollum), makes contact with Kat through her video blog. Inspired by her music, Kat and Shackleton embark together on his Antarctic quest, conquering new horizons and creating a cross-time love affair for the ages."

Ernest Shackleton Loves Me will have full production design by Alex Nichols, sound design by Robertson Witmer and costume design by Chelsea Cook.
