Bohemian ideals tout freedom, beauty, truth, and love over all else, but a little wealth never hurt, either. Moulin Rouge! entered the Millionaire’s Club with a gross of $1,331,046 for the week ending July 7. The musical played only five preview performances over the holiday week.

The stage adaptation of the Baz Luhrmann movie began June 28 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, where opening night is set for July 25. Should it continue to surpass its gross potential by over 10 percent (as it has so far), the Alex Timbers production will top $2 million in a full, eight-performance week with no problem.

Meanwhile, the boards bid farewell to three shows July 7, with Ink, My Fair Lady, and the Tony-winning The Ferryman each playing their final Broadway performances. All three saw a week-over-week uptick, with the latter two earning their highest gross of the year in their final lap.
