Disney Theatricals and the coffee company Chock Full o'Nuts had planned to use the Nov. 1 performance of Broadway's Beauty and the Beast to announce their new marketing partnership. But, as with many things in New York theatre, the events of Sept. 11 changed all that. Instead, the companies decided to contribute 200 tickets to the Nov. 1 show to Ground Zero rescue workers and their families. "We felt that a great way to show New York City how much we care, is by honoring the hard working rescue workers with this special evening at the Beauty and the Beast," said Henk deBack, President of Sara Lee Coffee & Tea Consumer Brands. The tickets will be personally delivered to the rescue workers. Chock full o'Nuts has already contributed $100,000 to The Twin Towers Fund.
In the future, Chock full o'Nuts and Disney will hold a sweepstakes. Winners can receive a week-long trip to New York City; tickets to all three Disney shows, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and Aida; or one of many other prizes.
