Minneapolis theatregoers can catch a free staged reading of Michael Hollinger's new drama, Tiny Island, Jan. 13 at the Guthrie Theatre. The reading caps a week of workshopping the piece with Hollinger in residence.
Set in the projection room of an old moviehouse, Tiny Island follows two middle-aged sisters confronting their past and examining their lives. Stephen DiMenna directs.
Hollinger's play, An Empty Plate In The Cafe Du Grand Boeuf, was produced at Philadelphia's Arden Theatre and Minneapolis' Cricket Theatre. Other plays include Incorruptible and Two-Part Invention.
The Tiny Island reading is part of a national partnership of the Playwrights' Center of Minnesota and nine other Philadelphia and Twin Cities theatre organizations.
