Now available from Angel Records, the 22-track recording has a total playing time of 63 minutes and 51 seconds. In addition to the classic tunes by Jule Styne (music) and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics), the recording also features select portions of Arthur Laurents' dialogue. Laurents also supplies liner notes in the accompanying 23-page CD booklet, which features the complete Sondheim lyrics as well as Gypsy production photos.
To celebrate the release of her latest cast recording, Peters and co-star John Dossett signed copies of the new "Gypsy" disc Aug. 19 at FYE (1290 Sixth Avenue at 51st Street) from 12:30-2:30 PM. The new release broke an FYE record, selling 500 copies in the two-hour period.
