News Gypsy Stars Head to "The View" in September Three of the stars of the hit revival of Gypsy — now playing the Shubert Theatre — will make an appearance on ABC-TV's "The View" in September.

Two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters, who stars as Momma Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed musical, will join co-stars John Dossett and Tammy Blanchard on Barbara Walters' morning chat show Sept. 9. The threesome will perform Gypsy's second-act charmer, "Together." "The View" airs in the metropolitan area on WABC-TV Channel 7 from 11 AM to noon. Check local listings.

Featuring a score by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim and a book by Arthur Laurents, Gypsy also stars Kate Reinders (Dainty June), David Burtka (Tulsa), Heather Tepe (Baby June), Addison Timlin (Baby Louise), Heather Lee (Tessie Tura), Julie Halston (Miss Cratchit/Electra), Kate Buddeke (Mazeppa), Brooks Ashmanskas (Mr. Goldstone/Pastey), Michael McCormick (Uncle Jocko/Cigar) and William Parry (Pop/Mr. Kringelein).

Gypsy was recorded June 22 and 23 at Manhattan's Right Track Studios and will be in stores on the Angel Records label Aug. 19. Tickets for the musical are available at the Shubert Theatre box office (225 West 44th Street) or by phone at (212) 239-6200.
