New Line Records released the recording July 10. The film hits theatres nationwide July 20.

The album places behind three-week chart-topper "Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus" and ahead of that film's predecessor, "Hannah Montana" (which holds at No. 3). Disney populates 10 of the chart's 25 slots. The soundtracks to "High School Musical" (Disney), "Grease" (Polydor/Universal) and "Dreamgirls" (Music World/Columbia) also place within the top 10.

On "The Billboard 200," the soundtrack places at No. 20, and it places at No. 6 on the Top Digital Albums.
