News "Hairspray" Star Makes Hollywood Bowl Debut July 11 Queen Latifah, who plays Motormouth Maybelle in the forthcoming film musical "Hairspray," makes her Hollywood Bowl concert debut July 11.

The singing actress, who also appeared in the Oscar-winning "Chicago" film, will offer an evening of jazz standards, blues, pop and R&B tunes. Part of the Jazz at the Bowl series, the evening also features singer-songwriter Goapele. Show time is 8 PM. Queen Latifah was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Matron "Mama" Morton in the film of Kander and Ebb's "Chicago." The former hip-hop star has also appeared on screen in "Last Holiday," "Beauty Shop," "Scary Movie 3," "Bringing Down the House," "Brown Sugar," "Living with the Dead," "Living Out Loud" and "Hoodlum."
