News Hairspray to Be Revived in New Production at U.K.'s Curve In Leicester Hairspray, the 2003 Tony winner for Best Musical that premiered on Broadway in 2002, will be revived in a brand-new production at the U.K.'s Curve in Leicester, beginning performances Feb. 28, 2014, prior to an official opening March 5, for a run through April 5.

The show, which has a Tony-winning score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and a Tony-winning book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, was originally seen in the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre in Jack O'Brien's original Broadway staging, choreographed by Jerry Mitchell. It will now be newly directed by Curve artistic director Paul Kerryson, with choreography by Lee Proud. The musical director will be Ben Atkinson. The company will include David Witts as Link Larkin. Witts can currently be seen as Joe Branning in TV's "EastEnders," for which he won the Most Popular Newcomer Award at the National Television Awards.
