News Hairspray's Darlene Love to Celebrate Two Years on Bway; CD and Concert, Too On July 7 recording legend Darlene Love will celebrate two years as Motormouth Maybelle in the Broadway production of Hairspray at the Neil Simon Theatre.

The singing actress, who stops the show nightly with her renditions of "Big, Blonde and Beautiful" and "I Know Where I've Been," will also release a new recording in the fall produced by Shawn Amos and Kevin Killen. On Oct. 2 "Darlene Love — It's Christmas Of Course" will hit stores on the Shout Factory label. Love will also celebrate the holiday season with her annual Christmas show, "Love for the Holidays." The Dec. 17 evening will be presented at Lincoln Center's Rose Theatre; tickets will go on sale mid-November.

Actress-singer Darlene Love, whose pop hits include such sixties classics as "He's a Rebel" and "Da Doo Ron Ron," has appeared on Broadway in Grease, Leader of the Pack and the cult classic Carrie. She was also nominated to the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame. Love's screen credits include "Shindig!," "Change of Habit," "Another World" and all four "Lethal Weapon" films. Her most recent recordings are titled "Age of Miracles" and "Unconditional Love."
