News Hairspray's Dynamites to Judge Macy's "Be a Tony Superstar!" Contest Macy's is offering Broadway star wannabes a chance to attend the 58th Annual Tony Awards telecast June 6.

A "Be a Tony Superstar!" contest for aspiring singers will be held May 20 at Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan. Contestants should be prepared to sing a capella approximately 45 seconds from one of five songs: Bye Bye Birdie's "Put on a Happy Face," Les Misérables' "I Dreamed a Dream," Evita's "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," Man of La Mancha's "The Impossible Dream" or Annie's "Tomorrow."

Those entering the contest will sing for a panel of judges, which will include Hairspray's The Dynamites — Tracee Beazer, Judine Richárd and Shayna Steele — and WCBS-FM personality Randy Davis. The first few contestants will also have the chance to perform in one of Macy's windows on 34th Street.

The winner of the contest will be presented with a pair of tickets to the June 6 Tony Awards ceremony. The prize package will also include dinner for two, lunch at Macy's Cellar Bar & Grill and a walk down the Tony red carpet.

Macy's Union Square in San Francisco will offer a similar "Be a Tony Superstar!" contest, also on May 20 at 2 PM PT. In addition to Tony tickets, the winner of that contest will be flown to New York and will receive free hotel accommodations for three nights at the Millennium Broadway Hotel. All contestants must be age 10 or older.

The Macy's flagship window is located in Manhattan at 34th Street, between Broadway and Seventh Avenue. For more information visit www.macys.com or www.tonyawards.com
