The Tricia Walsh-Smith one-acts will also feature the previously announced Chris Sarandon, Trudie Styler and Jessica Hecht. The 6:30 PM performance will benefit the Caron Treatment Centers, a leader in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. Peter DuBois, the producing director of the Public Theater, will direct Addictions, which "delves into the lives of three very different women and their dependencies."
Jackie Hoffman received a Theatre World Award for her work in Hairspray. Her other theatrical credits include Book of Liz (Obie Award), Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe (Jeff Award). Hoffman has been seen on screen in "Legally Blonde II," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Garden State," "Mo' Money" and "Freaky Friday."
Playwright Walsh-Smith, author of Bonkers, penned Addictions after the suicide of her youngest brother Kevin, who was a long-time alcohol addict. According to press notes, it is Walsh-Smith's hope "that this play might help other suffering addicts."
