Tony winner Hal Linden stars in the Pasadena Playhouse’s production of The Fantasticks, which runs September 6-October 2.

Linden, who won a Tony for Best Actor in a Musical in the 1971 production of The Rothschilds, plays the role of the Old Actor, Henry.

The lyrical and romantic musical The Fantasticks tells the story of a boy and girl who live next door to one another and fall in love despite the wall that keeps them apart. With music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Tom Jones, it is the longest-running musical in history and continues to play Off-Broadway at the Jerry Orbach Theatre at the Theater Center.

The Playhouse staging of The Fantasticks features direction by Seema Sueko, choreography by Kitty McNamee and music direction by David O. The cast also includes Phillip Anthony-Rodriguez, Regi Davis, Conor Guzman, Ashley Park, Alyse Rockett, Amir Talai and Gedde Watanabe.

The production features scenic design by David F. Weiner, costume design by Shirley Pierson, lighting design by Josh Epstein, sound design by Joe Huppert and props by Marissa Bergman. Victor Vazquez is community organizer, and Tim Weske is fight choreographer.
