Tony-winning producer Hal Luftig will moderate the evening, which will focus on young musical theatre composers who are pushing the boundaries by drawing musical inspiration from a wide variety of sources.
Scheduled to be part of the discussion are composers Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen (Burnt Part Boys), Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda (GrooveLily, Striking 12) and Kyle Ewalt and Michael I. Walker (Bromance: The Dudesical).
"What genres of music are fair game for the stage? How does using 'non-traditional' music affect the format of a story? How can new music push our understanding of what musical theater can be?" ask press notes for the evening.
