News Halbach and Rakel Cast in Off-Broadway's The Affair in 22B Casting is now complete for the limited Off-Broadway engagement of Jay Christopher's The Affair in 22B, which begins performances Oct. 13 at the Producer's Club.

John Halbach (Tartuffe, Beowulf) will join newcomer Renee Rakel in the intimate work that is directed by Marc Eardley for the New Jersey-based theatre company 3S Theatre Collective.

The Affair in 22B will officially open Oct. 16 and continue through Oct. 25 at the Producer's Club. The work marks the Off-Broadway debut for 3STC, which has previously presented the Andrew Lippa concert Welcome to the World and the recent New Jersey production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with MAC winner Jonathan Whitton.

Jay Christopher's 1984 play, according to production notes, "revolves around the relationship of the two main characters, Abbey and Paul, who share their lives in a run-down New York apartment, and who are looking to build a successful and meaningful relationship, though Paul's eagerness towards conflict and negativity plays an integral role in the downfall of the couple's companionship."

The creative team includes Stephen K. Dobay (set design) and Ryan Metzler (lighting design).

For tickets to The Affair in 22B, priced $27.50, phone (917) 628-0363 or visit 3STC. The Producer's Club is located at 358 West 44th Street in Manhattan.
