The London production of the musical Half a Sixpence has announced that it will play its final performance September 2 at the Noël Coward Theatre. The show, which is a fresh adaptation of the original 1963 musical, transferred to the West End in October 2016 following a hit run at the Chichester Festival Theatre earlier that fall.

This new stage versionadapted from H.G. Wells’ semi-autobiographical novel Kipps: The Story of a Simple Sou and the original musical by Beverley Cross and David Heneker—features a new book by Julian Fellowes (Mary Poppins, School of Rock) and new music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins, Honk). The musical is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh and is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh.

Half a Sixpence is designed by Paul Brown and choreographed by Andrew Wright. Orchestrations are by William David Brohn; Stephen Brooker and Graham Hurman are the musical supervisors. Rounding out the creative team are lighting designer Paule Constable, sound designer Mick Potter, and video designer Luke Halls.
